Moscow hosted V International conference “21-st century schooling: soft skills development and assessment” on August 29

CICED experts participated in the conference“21-st century schooling: soft skills development and assessment”. The keynote speakers were: Andreas Schleicher, Director for the Directorate of Education and Skills at OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development); Miloš Kankaraš, policy analyst involved in the work of OECD study of Social and Emotional Skills as well as in the OECD Early Learning and Child Well-being Study; Dirk Hastedt, Executive Director of the IEA (International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement).

The presenters comprehensively covered the issues of importance of soft skills in frames of meeting the challenges of the 21st Century, assessed the approach to their evaluation in different countries and particularly focused on detecting and implementing best practices of their development.

The conference provided great opportunity to both take a glance at contemporary international approach to development and assessment of soft skills, and to exchange views with colleagues from all over the world.
