Working meeting of representatives of the Center for International Cooperation for the Development of Education with the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and representatives of the National Center for Assessment of the Quality of Education and Information Technologies under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (NTSOKOIT)

On December 6, 2023, in Bishkek, the Kyrgyz Republic, a meeting was held with the head of CICED, A.A. Neverov. and Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic Kasymaliev M.U. and director of the Center for Assessment of the Quality of Education and Information Technologies under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic (NCOKOIT) Shamshidinova B.S.

The Kyrgyz Republic has been participating in the READ Program since 2010. During the participation of the Center and partners in the Kyrgyz Republic, dozens of initiatives were implemented aimed at improving the educational results of schoolchildren and developing effective approaches to education management in general. NTSKOIT specialists, being a close-knit and one of the strongest teams that took part in grant competitions of CICED, have repeatedly won applications to conduct scientific research and adapt the SAM educational competencies monitoring tool.

Russian is the state language in the Kyrgyz Republic, which opens up opportunities for Kyrgyz teachers to take part in the educational activities of the Center. In 2022, dozens of teachers from the Kyrgyz Republic took part in a modular program to improve teaching and learning conducted by the Center. Participants from the Kyrgyz Republic repeatedly showed the highest results among all. Russian specialists also take an active part in preparing experts and teachers of the Kyrgyz Republic to conduct the international PISA monitoring on the territory of the Republic in 2025.

At the meeting, a broad program of joint research for the next year was discussed, which will include testing and localization of several tools of the SAM family, the introduction of experimental modules of compensatory training in mathematics for primary school teachers, testing of primary school teachers, and joint publications based on research results. Agreements were reached to conduct a full-scale cross-country study using proven Russian tools. In the future, these technologies for monitoring the quality of education will be transferred for free use in schools of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the research results will be presented at a joint international conference in December 2024.
